This is my latest drawing for the Forged by Water series and is titled "An Oystermen at Rest". It's inspired by the photography of the late Robert de Gast, one of the preeminent photographers of the Chesapeake Bay and the watermen working its waters.
The particular image I referenced is from an exhibition of his work put together by the CHESAPEAKE BAY MARITIME MUSEUM called "Robert de Gast’s Chesapeake". More information about this exhibition can be found at www.robertdegastschesapeake.org. If interested in owning this drawing, or other drawings from the Forged by Water series, contact me directly at [email protected]. Here is the "Retired Watermen" triptych in its entirety with each drawing side-by-side. If you're interested in owning one, two, or all three of the drawings below is the contact information of the galleries where they can be found.
