About the Artist
Douglas E. Draper Jr. is an award-winning artist with a varied artistic background ranging from illustration and murals to concept art and comics.
As an illustrator he's worked with clients such the Santa Fe Institute, Deadthief Outfit Productions, Top Shelf Publishing, IDW Publishing, Emmy Award-winning creative director Vonetta Taylor, and the creative marketing agency, Plastic Palmtree - creating art for Amazon shows such as Making the Cut, Upload, and A League of Their Own, as well as the upcoming film Red One starring Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Chris Evans. Draper's work has been exhibited within numerous exhibitions on the east coast, including Brooklyn & New York City. Currently he has three murals on permanent display within the Social Security Administration building outside Baltimore, as well as a 40ft exterior mural for the Wicomico County Public Library. He received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Maryland Institute, College of Art where he was awarded the Presidential Scholarship. Recently he's completed a mural in Downtown Salisbury, MD as part of his series “Forged by Water”, an ongoing series of work encapsulating the gritty nature of life as a Chesapeake Bay waterman. |
