HELLO, do YOU work here?

Good day all!

Thought I'd toss up an illustration I've recently completed for the book HELLO, do YOU work here? from Alterna Comics. The book's concept is wonderful in it's simplicity and is one of the reasons I was really excited to be a part of it.

Basically, it's a group of very short stories, around 30 or so, about memorable experiences people have had at various jobs i.e. comic book shop, fast food restaurant, law firm, and so on. Places we've all worked at throughout our lives and can relate to.

My story, written by Christina Brown and title "Too Expensive", is about a older Russian couple and a clerk from Michael's, the arts and crafts store. This one was especially fun 'cause I too worked at Michael's. The summer before I left for college actually. And man, did they have the WORST elevator music EV. ER.

...okay, that has nothing t do with the story but... really, they do! (personal opinion of course)

The book hits shelves this June so if you're interested in snaggin' yourself a copy or would like to find out more info on it you can click riiiiiight... here!

Pretty neat pic. Although the store was named after me I have never worked there. The main reason being, NO SCRAPPLE SANDWICHES!

I love that lamp! (So does Brick)

You need to post this over at the Greg Ruth forum so the boys can see it.

Thanks Neil! (and Brick!) The lamp's one of my favorite parts too. Which makes me happy cause I know Brick is EXTRA picky about his lamps ;) I tried to make it as Russian lookin as possible. Well, as much as a lamp can look Russian I suppose.

Just posted it on Greg's board, thanks for the heads up. I always loves your guy's comments (and yet I'm so lame at online updating)

Mikey, good news, I just heard Michael's started constructing all their artificial flowers out of Rapa Scrapple. Though unfortunately the music is still the same...

By the way, since Mikey and I have continuously brought up "scrapple", for anyone who isn't aware of it's existence it's a Delmarva breakfast delicacy. One as widely enjoyed and loved as it is feared and hated. Check out the website: http://www.rapascrapple.com/products/original.htm
