3rd Friday

Hey everyone, just thought I'd mention yesterday I participated in an art festival in Salisbury, my ole' hometown, called 3rd Friday.  This was the first time I'd set up and/or attended and I gotta say it was a blast. The Hot Meals were jamming outside, the Greenbranch Farm was selling produce and such, and my buddies from Amused Studios were displaying and selling their fine pottery and ceramics. The weather was gorgeous too!

A bit about 3rd Friday, it's located in downtown Salisbury right on the plaza and it happens on, you guessed it, the 3rd Friday of every month. There's food to eat, live music to listen to, cool shops to visit, a bar for the grown folks (or those with fake ID's), and of course, a variety of artists with work on display.  Not only that but it's free to attend!

Next one is on June 18 from 5pm 'til about 8 so if you're in the area come by and hang out.  I'll definitely be there!

HELLO, do YOU work here?

Good day all!

Thought I'd toss up an illustration I've recently completed for the book HELLO, do YOU work here? from Alterna Comics. The book's concept is wonderful in it's simplicity and is one of the reasons I was really excited to be a part of it.

Basically, it's a group of very short stories, around 30 or so, about memorable experiences people have had at various jobs i.e. comic book shop, fast food restaurant, law firm, and so on. Places we've all worked at throughout our lives and can relate to.

My story, written by Christina Brown and title "Too Expensive", is about a older Russian couple and a clerk from Michael's, the arts and crafts store. This one was especially fun 'cause I too worked at Michael's. The summer before I left for college actually. And man, did they have the WORST elevator music EV. ER.

...okay, that has nothing t do with the story but... really, they do! (personal opinion of course)

The book hits shelves this June so if you're interested in snaggin' yourself a copy or would like to find out more info on it you can click riiiiiight... here!
