This past Sunday was PLB Comics release party at Illusions and I have say, good times were certainly had. Comics, talking about about comics, sketching, pizza, and little teeny tiny delicious cupcakes (seriously they were like the size of a quarter). Can't get too much better than that.
AND while we were there reporters Erin Traylor & Adrienne Price from The Flyer, Salisbury University's newspaper, came by and interviewed the local comic company. Pretty sweet, right? Here's a photo from the paper with the PLB fella's, as well as a shot my mug. If you'd like to read the full article on PLB check out all the goodness right here...
Thanks again to the PLB crew for having me out!
Just the other day the artistically talented German-based fellow Mr. Andi Papelitsky informed me of a review on the upcoming book HELLO, do YOU work here? from Alterna Comics, of which Andy and I both contributed illustrations for. (By the way, if you'd like to check out Andy's excellent piece, Shell of a Time, for the book you can see it right. over. here!)
It's a wonderful article that really sums up the direction of the book and also sheds a positive light all around it. Not only this but it personally mentions yours truly! Here's a little excerpt...
"and Douglas Draper, Jr., who impresses with a photo-realistic ink-and-wash style that owes something to the New York tenement stories of Will Eisner."
AND you can read the full article from BlogCritics riiiiiight here!
Thanks for the heads up Andy! (and thanks as well goes to reviewer Mr. Kerr for accepting my bride. Nyuk nyuk)
