If you're in the area the wonderful CCART Art Show will going on in downtown Salisbury, MD from 4pm 'till. It's featuring a multitude of artists from the area, including yours truly. This will be the second year I've personally contributed to the show, this time around showcasing a number of prints of my comic book and illustrative work. Also in the show are two extremely talented ceramicists and very good friends of mine - Robert Johnson (cool name, right?) & Sarah Halcott from Amused Studios. They have on display a number of they're works, from clay pottery & mugs to handbuilt sculpture & ceramic drums.
CCART is also partnered up with Downtown Salisbury's monthly arts event, 3rd FRIDAY - which is celebrating the opening of Mojos, as well as the November Tree Lighting. And in case you want to know a little more about CCART...

Hi everyone,
I've been wanting to post this for a little while now but it kept slipping my mind beneath the piles of paper, pencils, brushes and ink. But now that I've recently emerged, temporarily of course, I've finally gotten around to it.
This is a little something I won at the 19th Annual Juried Exhibition at the Art Institute & Gallery. The piece this award is attached to is an illustration called Too Expensive (if you take a glance above at the header there's quick snippet of it) and was done for a book from Alterna Comics. Great people and books over there. If you have a moment you should check them out. Good folks for sure.
Of the awards and acknowledgments I've taken home in the past I have to say this one here I'm truly proud of. Not because it "placed", which it didn't, but because it was a People's Choice Award, which means a lot to me. It wasn't a favorite piece in the mind of the judge but instead that of the people at the show themselves.
This struck a cord with me and I'd like to send out my sincere appreciation to those who came to the exhibition, enjoyed the piece and voted for it. Thank you.
I've now got a nice emerald green friend that hangs out with me everyday on the wall next to my desk.

Hey everyone,
Just wanted to let you all know I'm having my work shown this weekend at the Gowanus Ballroom in New York. The opening for the show is this evening from 6pm until' in Brooklyn. I don't have much time to ramble on about how excited I am about this so good ole' fashioned face-value excitement is as much as I can offer at the moment. I will say I'll have 9 of my original illustrative pieces on display and you can see a few examples of those on the Gowanus Ballroom website HERE.Last night I did stop by to take a look at the space and I will say out of all the shows I've been a part of this one is easily one of the most unique, broad-minded, and ambitious exhibitions I've taken part in.The coordinators Josh Young and Ursula Viglietta have really done an outstanding job and I'm truly looking forward to the opening tonight. If you happen to be in the New York area you're more than welcome to stop by. Should be a great time. To take a quote from Josh:"You're not going to want to leave".You can check out their website at www.gowanusballroom.com for information on this show as well as past shows. If you'd like to see the impressive list of featured artists you can do so right HERE. Contact and location info is below.Gowanus Ballroom 55 9th Street Brooklyn, NY 11215 347.460.2687 gowanusballroom@gmail.com

I'm excited to announce that my piece "Too Expensive" has been accepted for the 19th annual National Juried Exhibition at the Art Institute & Gallery in Salisbury, MD.This is one of the AI&G's most prestigious shows of the year and I'm honored to be a part of it. To be chosen out of over 300 pieces submitted from around the country certainly makes an artist feel all warm and fuzzy inside. The variety of work in the show is tremendous as well (I was allowed a special sneak peek when I dropped off my piece), ranging from photorealistic and abstract oil paintings to pottery and sculpture. A fantastic show this is looking to be.The opening reception and award ceremony is this coming Sunday, Sept. 12th from 2-4 pm so please feel free to stop by, bask in the glory of the incredible artwork, and get your fix of cheese, fruit, and wine.If you have any questions you can contact the gallery via their website at www.aiandg.com or call at 410-546-4748 (or contact me, I'm a fairly friendly guy... as long as it's not a full moon that is). Hey everyone, just thought I'd mention yesterday I participated in an art festival in Salisbury, my ole' hometown, called 3rd Friday. This was the first time I'd set up and/or attended and I gotta say it was a blast. The Hot Meals were jamming outside, the Greenbranch Farm was selling produce and such, and my buddies from Amused Studios were displaying and selling their fine pottery and ceramics. The weather was gorgeous too!A bit about 3rd Friday, it's located in downtown Salisbury right on the plaza and it happens on, you guessed it, the 3rd Friday of every month. There's food to eat, live music to listen to, cool shops to visit, a bar for the grown folks (or those with fake ID's), and of course, a variety of artists with work on display. Not only that but it's free to attend!
Next one is on June 18 from 5pm 'til about 8 so if you're in the area come by and hang out. I'll definitely be there!- D
